As large cities go Moscow is pretty safe. I would stay near the main tourist areas as most often there will be militia police men posted there. Most all areas of Moscow are safe to be in, but do carry your purse in front of you at all times. The city is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and is well known for its display of Russian architecture, particularly its historic Red Square, and buildings such as the Saint Basil's Cathedral and the Moscow Kremlin, of which the latter serves as the seat of power of the Government of Russia.Moscow is certainly one of the world's great cities from a historical standpoint, but for tourists it's still largely undiscovered.Another difficulty the city has is that Moscow is very expensive, even by most European standards. Hotels in the lower categories can be affordable, but standards tend to be equally low.Jeans, and denim in general, are very popular in Russia while the girls pictured with me are teenagers, they're wearing very typical outfits seen across the country. Throw on a pair of jeans with a t-shirt and you'll be good to go.

In 1920, after the Russian SFSR became a part of the Soviet Union, Kazan became the capital of the Tatar ASSR. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Kazan stayed as the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Kazan is renowned for its vibrant mix of Tatar and Russian cultures. The city is situated about 60 km north of the confluence of the Volga and the Kama River. From Kazan it is a one-and-a-half-hour flight 720 km or 450 mi  west to Moscow. Kazan is the capital and largest city of Tatarstan, the semi autonomous republic in European Russia.Kazan is easy to reach by train, as it is a major station stop for several west east trains. Depending on the train, travel from Moscow Kazan Station can be as short as 11 hours. A direct train from St. Petersburg's Moscow Station takes 25 hours.

Although first documented in 1066, Sibenik was probably founded earlier by Slav migrants. It was chartered in 1167 and until 1412 was fought over by Venice and Hungary Croatia. If you do one thing when you visit Split, you should explore Diocletian's Palace. Important sites within Diocletian's Palace include the Peristyle the center of the Palace, the Cardo one of the main streets through the Palace, and the cellar. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, the cellar is a filming site.

Euphrasie Barbier

Euphrasie Barbier, known in religious life as Marie du Coeur de Jesus, was born on the 4th of January 1829, in Caen, France. The family had a strong faith and her parents instilled into their young family the values of honesty and hard work. When Euphrasie was a young adult the church in France was strong and vibrant with many new congregations being founded to work in France with the growing numbers of poor people or to work overseas in the colonies of the different European imperial powers. At this time Euphrasie was inspired by a Bishop preaching on his experiences in the mission fields. She yearned to be a foreign missionary.

In December 1861 Euphrasie Barbier founded a new congregation, Institute de Notre Dame des Missions, in Lyon, with the express, but not exclusive, aim of working in the foreign missions. The first foreign missionaries, all French, left France in late October 1864 for New Zealand where within the year they were busy teaching children of the European settlers and young Maori girls.   Life was not easy for the young foundress. In spite of difficulties the congregation flourished and allowed the establishment of new foundations.

Small and slight, but with boundless energy, Euphrasie was familiarly known as “the little Mother”. Despite her health having been undermined by privations and illness, she had great enthusiasm for life. She made regular but arduous trips to the communities she had established in France, England, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Asia.

Dehydration - hydration - By Peter

What is dehydration ?

Dehydration means that your body doesn't have enough water in it to keep it working right. A person gets water by drinking and eating.you lose water when you sweat, urinate pee, have diarrhea, or throw up. You even lose a little water when you breathe.

Why am I Dehydrated ?
Many times kids get dehydrated when they're playing hard and having fun.On top of that, you probably don't feel very much like eating or drinking. That's why your mom or dad tells you to drink a lot of fluids when you're sick.

What Are the Signs of Dehydration ?

Being thirsty is the top clue. Here are some other signs that a person might be dehydrated:
  • feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or tired
  • rapid heartbeat
  • dry lips and mouth

What Should I Do ?

If you're going to be going outside, it's a good idea to drink water before, during, and after you play, especially if it's hot. Dehydration can happen along with heat-related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion
and heat stroke.Limit soda and other sugary drinks, such as fruit punches, lemonades, and iced teas.

Do I Need a Doctor ?

Some cases of dehydration can be handled at home. But sometimes, that isn't enough to get a kid feeling better. A kid may need to go to the doctor or emergency room if he or she has a heat-related illness or a virus with vomiting or diarrhea that just won't quit.At the hospital, the good news is that an intravenous say: in-trah-VEE-nus IV line can get fluids into your body fast.
